Hustler Z Diesel

The Hustler Z Diesel riding lawn mower is an amazing piece of equipment. The thing that makes me love this machine so much is it's 25-hp engine. This engine makes it feel like you are riding a go-cart rather than a lawn mower. The seat is incredible comfortable and the turning radius is unbeatable.

The thing practically turns on a dime. The speed of this mower combined with its sixty inch deck allows me to mow my ten acre lot in about three hours. The salesman told me that the Hustler Z Diesel would outlast me and my children to the point that my grand kids could use it in like new working condition. That kid of durability is hard to find. I would strongly recommend the Hustler Z to anyone with a large amount of land even if the land is hard to navigate.

The turning radius and control of this mower is incredible. The thing practically turns on a dime. One of the best things about it is its safety features. If there is not any pressure on the seat then the engine will die. This is nice just incase you somehow fall off the mower won't keep driving off into the countryside.

I really like the two cup holders that are located on your left side. This way you can enjoy a nice beverage while working and you don't have to get off the machine to do so. Now it is my recommendation to use a container with a lid on it because depending on your land and the terrain you are driving over the blades kick up a lot of dust in those really nasty places.

That's not really too much of a problem though. You'll find that with any mower you use. All in all the Hustler Z is the way to be.

Diesel z

The diesel Z is an excellent mower in the time that I have used mine. I bought mine new and seems to burn about gallon an hour at 80-90 % throttle as per break-in procedure for first 100 hours. It has a great cut quality and its a monster of a machine. It will tackle anything you put infront of it and never bog down, not even with the 72" deck. Mine has the shibaura diesel not the cat they used too use. I will say however, I wish i had bought a smaller mower. Im currently starting a lawn care company and this beast will limit the jobs i can do because of its size and weight, mostly its weight, as it is as maneuverable as a zero turn should be. But say you doing smaller lawns sure you will get them done incredibly fast due to its size but when surroundings require you take the same route it will eventually leave divots or ruts where the rear tires are due to its weight. And it is a cold blooded machine in my opinion, I also own a diesel truck and if the temps are above 40 i skip the grid heater and just start it and it fires up like the engine is already hot, this diesel lawn mower on the other hand if you don't use the glow plugs even when its 75 will stumbel and smoke for a second then clear out of it. But it is an old school mechanical diesel and while i won't go as far to say it will out last me, but I'm sure it wall live 2-3 times the life of a gas machine, I will just use it for larger lots and will probably get a stand on machine for most of my properties.

How much fuel does the hustler diesel burn per hour or how many hours will it run on a tank of fuel?

Diesel Z

I just purchased the diesel Z with a 72rear discharge deck. Truely amazed at the minimal dust/dirt/grass clippings on me when i finish my 10 acres. I had a Walker and was covered and hated mowing until I purchased the Z. My fuel consumption and time is cut by about 2/3 the time. It mows thru 12-14 inch deep grass without bogging down. The only thing with the rear discharge deck cutting grass that deep it windrows the clippings like a farmers hay field. Keeping it cut after is no different than any other side discharge or mulching deck. Should have got one years ago!
