john deere riding mower D130

I've owned this mower for about two years and one thing that caught my attention right away was how fast the engine air filter filled up with dust and dirt. It seems the design of exhaust discharges forward, so when traveling on a lawn or hard asphalt surface there is no problem. But when the surface changes to dirt then this design creates the "perfect storm." Now the exhaust drives the air forward in the same direction of tractor travel, thus you are moving along in a cloud of dirty air that the air filter readily sucks up. I have no other comment in the overall design. Just suck it up and live with it.
