Try mixing the Lemon Essential Oil
by: Anonymous

When I just used soapy water on basil plants, it only slowed down the tiny bugs, but did not get rid of them. I had used just lemon essential oil and water, but again it only slowed down the bugs. I put both together and it actually stopped the bugs. I just added 5 drops of essential oil to the soapy water.

I am not a gardener but my husband always used this remedy to get rid of bugs that would eat on the tomatoe plants. It seemed to work very well because we always had lots of good tsting tomatoes.

It works.
by: Kel

I've used the soapy water trick on some of my shrubs and one of my trees. It really works, and actually helped me with my little Japanese Beetle problem. It didn't get rid of them completely, but the soap water pared them down so I didn't have to drown the tree with Ortho.

Bugs on plants
by: Anonymous

I use Endosulfan 35 E.C. to get rid of bugs from my verbenas, ranunculus, calendula and other annual and perennial plants. When these bugs attack my plants, the plants do not flower. After spraying them with the above mentioned insecticide I get some respite from them.

Try This Solution for Pesky Bugs
by: Janine

After many trial and error solutions to pesky bugs on my plants in my garden, I have found two "natural" solutions: 1. Spritz a mixture of cayenne pepper, garlic, and water in between the rows. 2. Spritz a mixture of lemon juice and water directly onto plants with pests. Both of these solutions work for me.

maybe not so good with peppers
by: Anonymous

Something was eating the leaves on my pepper plants and I tried this and 60% of the leaves shivled up and fell off. I don't know if this was a specific reaction from the pepper plants, I have tried this before on flowering plants, and it works pretty well.
