Troy Bilt 3 way mulcher

My lawn mower is a Troy bilt 3-way mulcher. I bought it about two years ago from Lowe's. My first choice was a similar model that included electric start, (love my gadgets), but after one or two uses, it didn't want to start, so I downsized to one called easy start.

You still have to pull start it, but it is easy. I like this particular mower because I have a choice of mulching the cut grass, bagging it, or sending it out the side.

The engine on this mower is a 190cc Briggs-Stratton and it is most certainly self-propelled. Sometimes, it worked so well, it went a little too fast. It is very easy to use and it leaves my lawn looking so nice when I am finished.

When I first bought it, my son used it most of the time until he went away to school. I was worried that due to my health that I would find it difficult to keep the lawn up, but this lawnmower made my job easy. I am nowhere near a professional landscaper, so I was pleasantly surprised.

Once I started using the lawnmower regularly, I wondered why I didn't buy such a good one years ago. In the past, I always used Snapper lawnmowers, which is a quality brand, but expensive, so I always bought used ones that were not self propelled. When I was younger, that was manageable, but I can't do it now. Not only is this lawn mower easier to use, but the price was reasonable.

I believe I only paid 325.00 dollars for it on sale. I would recommend this mower to any one who is able to walk behind it.

by: SHELIA BURLESON

PURCHASED A MODEL 12A1869F011 SELF PROPELL PUSH MOWER WITH REAR BAGGER EARLY IN 2010 ONLY HAVE A SMALL AREA TO MOW. NOTICED THAT WHEN I TRY TO STRAT OFF WITH THE SELF PROPELL HANDLE PULLED IT WOULD PULL TO FAST SO I PUT IT ON NUMBER 1 HOPING THIS WOULD HELP. IT DID BUT TRYED IT ON NUMBER 2 AND PULLS WAY TO HARD AND IF YOU WANT TO USE IT IN ANY OTHER GEAR YOU WOULD ALMOST HAVE TO JOG. WAS MOWING IN NUMBER 2 GEAR AND IT PULLED ME DOWN RIGHT AT THE START INJURED MY LUMBAR SPINE AND NOW AM WEARING A BACK BRACE FOR THE NEXT 3 TO 4 MONTHS LOOKING AT POSSIBLE SURGERY/ SPOKE WITH MTD THEY HAD MOWER CHECKED OUT AND STATED IT IS DOING WHAT IT IS SUPPOSE TO DO. WELL JUST WANTED YALL TO KNOW YOU BETTER BE VERY CAREFULL WITH THIS MOWER OR YOU CAN BE INJURED I AM 6'8" WEIGH 190 POUNDS HAD USED IT FOR TWO YEARS BEFORE INJURY HAPPENED AND COMPANY NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. never again

I bought a troy built push mower in 2008 from Lowes. Luckily, i bought the 3 year extended warranty. About a month before the 2 year manufacturers warranty was up, the back wheel came apart. It is rear self-propelled. I called the number on the brochure that was given to me with my warranty info. They sent me to a repair place fairly close to where I live. I had my mower back within a few days.

Two weeks later the rear self propelled mechanism went out. I took the mower back to Lowes to see if they would exchange the entire mower. They ended up sending the mower off to North Carolina. That was two weeks ago and I haven't seen it yet. The bad thing is that we had a lot of rain lately and i cut two yards plus my own.

Needless to say, I will never buy a Troy built mower. The gears in the rear drive must be plastic because they lasted less than two years.
