TroyBilt String Mower

The string mower is quite useful when you have a long fenceline to follow. BUT ONLY IF IT IS ON NEAR-LEVEL GROUND! The mower's strings tend to dig into the earth should angles exceed even 20 degrees.

Also, find the best replacement strings that you can! Cheap ones will wear out very quickly. Should the carburetor get water into it, be aware that any fix-it shop will want to completely change out the carburetor.

The time it takes them to diagnose then clean and test is not worth their time! And a simple inventory of household tools MIGHT NOT contain screwdrivers, sockets, wrenches, etc. that could be used to fix this mower yourself.
