Coffee Grounds

by Brooke Ezzat

We live in a part of the country where snails can be a problem. One of my neighbors used to put beer in a pie-tin for the snails and they would meet their maker in a sodden state. Being soft-hearted that did not appeal to me so I surround my garden with coffee grounds and the texture of the grounds irritates the snails so they stay away.

Coffee grounds-smells better than most mulch!
by: Anonymous

Coffee Grounds are great for my garden. I save the grounds in a container with a lid, seperate from other mulching items, just because the smell is great when opening the jar. Also, sometimes I like to use the grounds in a ring around plants like pine mulch, with the color and natural texture they blend in well.

Great Idea
by: Anonymous

Coffee grounds are great in the garden. I mulch them in before I plant my tomatoes for the year and the acidity helps my tomatoes to flourish without any chemicals. I didn't realize that they help repel slugs as well! What a great all-around garden helper for us green thumbs.
