John Deere L100 riding mower
by Jason Vadimsky
This riding lawn mower is, without a doubt the most solid lawn mower I have ever owned. The way this thing is built is bulletproof. Before this one I had a Simplicity and a Craftsman and they both pale in comparison to this one.
The John Deere L100 has a smooth ride, powerful engine, easily adjustable cutting deck, and comfortable yellow seat which doesn't get as hot as a black vinyl seat like my old mower. The John Deere even has a convenient cup holder so you don't have to balance your drink between your legs while driving.
The only thing I can complain about with this tractor is the turning circle, since only the front tires turn on this model it sometimes makes it hard to get into tight areas.
This mower didn't struggle through moist grass as much as other mowers I have owned but still showered some resistance in more wet grass. In 3rd or 4th gear the mower had no problems with taller, thicker grass but in 5th it showed a little trouble.
Other than that this is a fine, reliable mower which hasn't let me down for the 2 1/2 years I've owned it.
Many other mowers I have had have experienced trouble starting after awhile but so far in my ownership of this I haven't experienced any starting problems, even after being stored for the winter.
For heavy commercial use I wouldn't suggest this mower but for every day use for my lawn it is more than enough to get the job done.
