Save those grass clippings

At this time of year you could get lost under a mountain of grass clippings. I use the clippings on my veg patch as mulch, especially on the potatoes which love the clipping but also other veg too. It also saves on weeding also and provides extra nutrients to your veg.

You can also add them to your compost heap but leave them to dry before adding and don't overload as you need a good mix of green and brown content

Reuse grass clippings

I am so glad that you have another way to use your grass clippings, because so many people bag there clippings and just throw them away! That just strips away nutrients from the earth!

Grass clippings
by: Anonymous

I have been using grass clippings for the last three years not only on my vegetables, but also in my composter, and under all of my fruit trees. I have noticed that with each passing year, there are fewer and fewer weeds for me to pull and the fruit gets a little larger and sweeter. Coincidence...maybe, but I'm going to continue to use my grass clippings.
