Too much of a good thing can be bad for your plants

When a friend of mine helped me to transplant a small tree we found older soil with way too much fertilizer. It is really important to read and follow directions when using fertilizer.

Too little fertilizer won't help growth. But too much fertitilizer can burn the roots and stop growth.

Also, make sure to read labels of fertilizers to see what type of soil they should be used in and what types of planting they will help. Reading directions and following them will lead to a beautiful garden.

I found out the hard way.

I was transplanting one of my juniper shrubs and added to much fertilizer as well and placed it to close to the roots. The roots ended up burning because I did not water enough as well, so now I follow all instructions precisely.
