Toro Recycler 20333


The Toro Recycler 20333 is one of the best push lawn mowers I have ever used. I do have a riding lawn mower as well, but for extra exercise I like to whip out the push mower because my fiancee thinks of it as me working out, and it also gives a more precise cut.


The mower has a feature on it that might be one of my favorites. It has what is called the personal place drive system, which allows it to go just as fast as I am walking. It takes a little bit to get used to it and learn how to walk with it, but once you get it down it is worth it. Also, this mower makes it very easy to bag and mulch without making much of a mess. I don't have to worry about smelling like grass clippings and mulch when I go back inside after I already smell like sweat.

Also, while it is not an electrical start like most mowers, the coil start feature is extremely easy to use and is almost effortless. Not once, have I had to worry about whipping the cord back several times, even if it is low on gas. I do not have to use a foot mount either when I am pulling back on the cord.

The one thing that I think I liked most about it, and I know my fiancee enjoyed the money left over while we were at the mall. I only spent about $420 and I feel that this was a steal. I have already made my money back, while at the same time making my lawn look beautiful. The precise cut makes me reluctant to ever use my riding mower, even when it is hot outside. My neighbor always uses his $2000 riding mower and my lawn still looks twice as good as his.

Bought Toro 20333 to replace aging Honda HR-21, which had replaced a Toro. Honda blade and body produced better lift and lawn finish and cut closer to bushed and walls. Honda front wheel mounts were easily bent and cables snagged bushes. It was bag-only and handle height was hard to adjust. Fit and finish of Toro equal to Honda. Toro blade clutch and self-pacing drive system work surprisingly well, especially for the back and forth trimming. Toro will give aerobic workout at max speed. Toro can switch from bagging to mulching with lever, and side discharge with minimal effort. New Hondas require you to purchase additional parts to mulch. Toro engine has more power and way better gas mileage than old Honda, and more CC's than new Hondas. Toro starts easily. Old Honda and Toro it replaced lasted about same time and both died of cylinder/piston ring wear and oil burning. New Toro, with steel deck, was $100 less that comparable Honda with composite deck.

I really like this mower with one exception.
The drive wheels do not "free-wheel" when pulling the mower backwards even after pushing it forward when releasing the self paced mechanisim.

The Toro Recycler 2033 is a really well performing push lawn mower. It offers a deck made of steel rather than one made of aluminum. One of the best features is the recoil start. It guaranteed to start on the first or second attempt.

This mower lets you choose between bagging, and mulching your clippings. When I use the mulching feature I can’t even see the clippings in my lawn. If you choose to bag your clippings the bag is large enough to do a good sized lawn without having to stop midway to empty it.

It is very easy to go from one option to the other by simply flipping a switch. Another handy option is the brake blade feature. This feature allows you to stop mowing your lawn without stopping the motor so you can move lawn furniture, toys, or other objects out the way.

This model also works well on grass that is damp, I recently mowed the same day that it rained and it worked just as well as if I were mowing a dry lawn. It also cuts tall grass without any problems. There is also a feature that matches your walking pace, once you learn to use this feature it can help make mowing a simple chore. I don’t know how I managed to mow my lawn with my old mower.

With the Toro Recycler 2033 I mow my lawn in half the time and it looks much cleaner and neater than with my old mower. I would recommend this mower to my friends and family.
